The Oak Ridge Community Band
Oak Ridge, Tennessee

The Oak Ridge Community Band (ORCB) was founded in 1944 to give amateur musicians the opportunity to play their instruments and to provide quality band music for the Oak Ridge community. The band normally presents four free summer concerts in Alvin K. Bissell Park and six indoor concerts with free admission. In lieu of admission, the band requests donations to help defray band expenses. Although ORCB is unable to have live concerts during the COVID-19 pandemic, the band still has expenses and would greatly appreciate donations which can be made on the Community Band Facebook page (www.facebook.com/OakRidgeCommunityBand) by clicking on the link beside the videos at https://PayPal.me/ORCB or you can mail your contributions to ORCB, P.O. Box 6980, Oak Ridge, Tn 37831-6980.

The Community Band is a tax exempt, non-profit organization registered in the State of Tennessee and is a member of the Arts Council of Oak Ridge. Rehearsals are normally held every Thursday evening 7:30 - 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. Interested area musicians are welcome to join, and no auditions are required. However, band rehearsals have been cancelled for 2020.

While all of the concerts for 2020 have been cancelled, the band presented a virtual concert on Labor Day. The band performed "The Distance Between Us" in honor of all who lived and died in the 2020 pandemic.

Beginning in July, 2020, ORCB began posting every Saturday morning on the Community Band Facebook page a video of band members performing as soloists, in duets, trios, and other small ensembles. These videos of band member performances will continue to be released through September on ORCB's facebook page which can be viewed by anyone (you do not have to be a Facebook member) simply by going to www.facebook.com/OakRidgeCommunityBand. All the videos already posted can be seen by scrolling down the Community Band facebook page. Please also take the opportunity while viewing these band videos to click on the link which will allow you to make a contribution to ORCB which will allow us to continue to meet our expenses during the pandemic. Thank you for your support!

These and other ORCB videos can be viewed on the ORCB ORWE Youtube Channel.
