The Oak Ridge Community Band has proudly served our community since 1944. Established in a city once shrouded in secrecy due to the Manhattan Project, this band has become a cherished cultural institution. In the summer of 1944, a group of enthusiastic residents gathered to celebrate Independence Day with a concert outside the Grove Center Movie Theater, now the Historic Grove Theater. Their commitment to music has created a lasting legacy that continues to enrich our community.
Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.
